Since 2 February 2025, Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires organisations to ensure sufficient AI literacy among staff working with AI. National enforcement follows during 2026. The deadline
The literacy obligation has applied since 2 February 2025. From 2 August 2026, national regulators and the sanction regime become operational.
The obligation also applies when your team only uses ChatGPT, Copilot or other AI tools. Train now and you are demonstrably compliant before enforcement starts.
What Article 4 asks of your organisation
Article 4 asks for AI literacy that matches each employee's role: understanding what AI systems do, where the opportunities and risks sit, and how to work with them responsibly. How the training works
Intake and audience analysis
Which teams work with AI, which tools do they use and which risks come with that? We tailor the content per group, from board to operations.
On-site training
A half or full day per audience. How AI systems work, where the risks sit (hallucinations, bias, privacy, data leakage), what the AI Act says about your use, and how to work with AI productively and responsibly. Lots of practice, few slides.
Certificates and documentation
A certificate per participant and a record of covered topics per organisation, so you can demonstrate Article 4 compliance to regulators.

Frequently asked questions
Is AI literacy training mandatory?
Yes, for organisations using AI systems. Article 4 of the EU AI Act has required sufficient AI literacy for staff working with AI since 2 February 2025. National enforcement regimes are coming online during 2026; in the Netherlands from 2 August 2026, coordinated by the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Violations fall under Article 99(4): fines up to EUR 15 million or 3% of global annual turnover.
Who does the AI literacy obligation apply to?
Every organisation that provides or uses AI systems, including teams that only work with tools like ChatGPT or Copilot. The obligation covers staff who work with AI systems or decide about their use, proportionate to their role and the risks involved.
What does AI literacy training cost?
Our in-company training runs from EUR 2,500 to EUR 4,000 per day, depending on group size and customisation. One day covers most teams; for larger organisations we build a programme with sessions per audience.
What counts as "sufficient AI literacy"?
The AI Act asks for knowledge and skills matching the role: understanding what AI systems do, their opportunities and risks, and how to work with them responsibly. A marketer needs different knowledge than a developer, so the training is structured per audience.
Do participants receive proof of completion?
Yes. Each participant receives a certificate and your organisation receives a record of the topics covered, so you can demonstrate to regulators that you are meeting Article 4.
